The darkness and the silence that hovered in the night seemed surreal. It seemed to pass from one dimension to another. The birds were chirping and sometimes you could hear an owl or a fleeting screeching of a bat that passed very close to its own window. The light did not exist except for the artificial one. It was as if the whole world went into "stand-by" and everything was permissible during that time frame. There were those who love the midst of the darkness and those who hates it. In the case of Grace, however, was not hate but it was a well-founded fear. Grace is a young eighteen years old with long brown hair, the body neither too thin nor too big and of an average height. She goes to school and works in the afternoon in the bar of a lady known years ago. She spends her free time with her friends and at school things were quite well. There was only one side of her that no one knew and that she doesn't want to make the others know. When darkness fell down, she preferred to stay at home, at safe. Although it was not quite secure. He took a piece of her hair and carried forward by holding it in his hands and playing with it. It was just after two in the morning but she did not sleep, could not do it and it certainly was not due to lack of sleep. He was afraid and this took away sleep. She was sitting on the floor with his back against the bed intent on fiddling with her hair and looking at his watch from time to time. How could slow pass the time? Maybe too slow for the young girl. Suddenly, she heard some noises coming from downstairs and cut off her breath. Her face turnes toward the door and the beating of her heart began to accelerate. She began to hurry on the bed covering herself with the covers over her head, frightened. Her breathing grew more and more as the sounds grew louder and insistent then out of nowhere they stopped. The silence returned to reign supreme and the girl let out a long breath of relief, taking off his blankets from above facials. She had survived one more time, especially when she heard the door close again from below. She shook her head, biting his lower lip. How much more would have resisted this story? Felt he could not resist anymore and the mere fact was that she could not even escape makes her sad even more. She picked up her phone from under the pillow and tried any game that could distract her even for a short time. Sleepless night, again.

The eyes of the young man looked out the window while he was sitting comfortably on a chair. The moonlight brights part of his room and also his eyes were reflected on the glass of the window. He loved the night, especially during that hour, and during those nights when the moon shone high in the sky and lit up, as far as possible, parts of the city. Suddenly, someone knocked at his door.
"Come on." Whispered the young man.

No one came forward, however, and then decided to get up and open it himself. There was no one. What if it were simply imagined it? He closed the door and pulled the curtains. His bed was still tidy and the sheets smelled clean. Mentally thanked his mother and smiled as he lay down on the bed staring at the ceiling above his covers. Everything was new, it was finally returned to his city and had already revised his old friends who had remained the same and their opinion of him has not changed. They were still good and joked as if Niall has never left. He was happy to be back. That city was like his "kingdom," there he felt important and loved by the people who had seen him grow. The thoughts made him blink more and more slowly until he closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep, a smile always on his face.

The dull sound of an alarm woke her up. His cell phone vibrated and played at the same time warning her that it was time to wake up. Listlessly move her hand toward the night-table and put an end to the torture that was every morning. She rubbed her eyes and pulled the covers off. The house was still in silence, almost like the night just passed. She put her feet on the cold floor and walked towards the door open slightly and slowly, making as little noise as possible. The corridor stretched to his left to his right, the bathroom door was open but the blinds were still closed and the place looked like terribly gloomy. He left the room being in the middle of the corridor. He walked the corridor in silence up to the stairs and went quietly. The silence continued to reign supreme. At the end of the stairs, Grace turned left lying in the living room and began to open the blinds of all the windows of the house in the right sequence. Not a sound is heard except the one of the windows that opened. The terrible and dreaded door that was near the entrance door and gave it to the closet was still closed and would not open anyway. She looked around with her usual indifferent expression and then she took her way upstairs dressing. Did not take very fashionable and even to appear. Preferred to stay in her side. She hated being at the center of attention. Once, she loved to sing, but then the fear of the public took over, and her passion began to leave. She put on a pair of jeans that were slightly baggy, a blue shirt with short sleeves and a long necklace that ended with the word "Music". She let her hair down. She always tried to not tie them, he hated not having them on the shoulders, looked like they were as protection. She forgot the breakfast and given the time did not seem convenient to dwell further. She took her backpack putting it on his shoulder, opened the door keeping away from the door and closed it out once. He turned the key in the door and breathed a sigh of relief. She was finally out.

Niall's mother called him at least five times before the young man stood up permanently. He went in the bathroom washing his face and looking in the mirror. His hair was completely disheveled, he needed a comb and a bit 'of gel. From the kitchen you could hear the noise of pots and coffee machine that was working. Niall smiled when he heard his mother scream that breakfast was ready. He grown up but she always treated him as if he were a child. Absurd as the mothers could be so protective and embarrassing at the same time. Returned to his room and put on the first clothes he found in the closet: a pair of dark jeans and a white T-shirt with some blue stripes on the collar and on sleeve. For hair it took longer. He took the gel over and over again on the hair before pulling it up but when it seemed to have succeeded, some hair teased him and came down causing discomfort and forcing him to repeat the same operation. After fifteen minutes, he did it, and left the bathroom just managing to get a croissant in the mouth leaving half dangling from his mouth. "Niall, education!" The young man made a face sorry. He took a bottle of water, he shouldered his backpack and walked out waving to his mother with his mouth full. Was returning to school, finally. He resumed his normal life and would have lived forever there, in that town. He managed to swallow the brioche and taken immediately after a long swig from the bottle of water.

In front of himself, he found a young woman with brown hair and was cold by the expression the gate of his house behind him without even bothering to look. Niall turned around looking at the house from which she had just left. "Hey," the boy said suddenly, hoping that the young woman just listened. Grace reluctantly turned around. Her expression betrayed no emotion except for that of boredom and annoyance. The young man found himself slightly uncomfortable before speaking again. He pointed with the index finger of his right hand the home of the girl before returning to speak. "Do you live here?" Grace raised an eyebrow, thinking it was a very stupid question. "I do not think it is a Bed and Breakfast, do not you think?" "I'm sorry I did not mean to be rude. But here, years ago lived a friend of my mother, I remember it perfectly because at that window," he pointed to the window of the room of the parents of Grace “is missing a piece and I always told my mother to be careful because I was afraid that a piece fell on my head! " The expression of Grace became disbelief for a few minutes and did not know what to say. Niall continued to smile which made the young restless and annoyed at the same time. "If you do not mind, I'm late for school." "Oh me too! We could make the road together." Replied the young man always cheerful. Grace turned and put his index finger on the chest of the young man taking a cheeky expression. "I'm not a little girl who needs a nanny, or an antisocial that needs company. I know very well get myself to school, so if you let it." She don't even finished the sentence that she turned and walked back toward the school building while Niall stood on the spot, putting a hand on her hip and one on his head not understanding what had just success. What Grace did not know was that Niall could be damn stubborn.

She arrived at school earlier than usual. The entry would be deserted if it was not for her and those four guys who were talking to each other. She sat on the low wall that bordered the entrance as she saw pass the various bus who accompanied the students on the other side of the road. In a few minutes, what was once empty is filled in a few, a very few minutes. The young woman did not take her eyes off her shoes while moving and controlled if there was some part unstitched. Suddenly, someone touched her shoulder and she lifted her head snap scared. In front of her eyes appeared Tania, one of her friends who greeted her with a smile dazzling. "GreGre! Everything's all right? "" Please Tania, do not start speaking strange, is seriously irritating. " said Grace scorbutic. The friend blew air through his teeth, she had already understood the situation. "Bad day?" Grace gave her a nervous look and irritated to which the friend replied, bringing both hands in the air as a sign of surrender. Grace then started, explaining the terrible night she had spent but did not specify why. She blamed the neighbors who made too much noise. She had never spoken to anyone about things too personal, she was afraid that someone betrayed sooner or later and she was going to spill the beans around and would become the laughing stock of the city. The friend was about to answer when a scream made them both turn. From a bus went down a few guys with the young blonde guy that "bothered" Grace that morning: Niall. The young woman shook his head in disapproval. She felt that in that boy hovered something strange, no one is good or at least it is not forever. Girls and boys came to welcome him while others remained in their places watching the scene and murmuring among themselves. Tania sighed deeply and loudly, as if was enchanted by that scene. "Tania, please!" Grace told her, patting her arm. "Oh please Grace, we are talking about Niall! He grew up here and left a terrible void when it had to go away. Now that he's back the school took on a new color! "Grace went back to fiddling with his fingers, murmuring in a low voice:" Yes, the pale gray. " The bell sounded the start of classes and the wave of boys who were waiting outside rushed inside mandatory. Grace and Tania were the first, although the second girl also wanted to only see up close the young blond. During the lessons, Grace only heard about Niall and how good it was, attractive, charming, sweet, funny and unique. Arrived at the fourth hour rested his head on the palm of his right hand was balancing having staked his elbow on the counter. She could not stand to hear about that guy. As time hole, she felt her friend coming out of the class to get some 'air and after asking permission let the door behind her. The corridors were empty but you could hear the voices of the students in the classroom. She walked aimlessly finishing ahead of the machines that sold food. She had got an irresistible peckish chocolate coconut and so it was that she inserted the money into the slot. She pressed the number corresponding to the product but the machine did not move. Tried to give it a slap but nothing. She sighed pointing to heaven while a voice from behind startled when he felt especially in the vicinity of the neck. "It would seem that it is not your day today." She turned encountering blue eyes of the young blonde who was sweeping the school. An expression of despair went up in the face. Niall was there again, and if she could have chosen would have chosen to make him disappear from there at that exact moment.
