La settimana successiva fu il tempo di consegnare i compiti. Tutti erano abbastanza in fermento, specialmente perché tranne due o tre persone, tutti erano innamorati o fidanzati.

Mr. Schuester entrò con il suo solito brio.

"Bene ragazzi, siete pro..."

Ma fu interrotto da una voce di ragazza.

Una bionda dai grandi occhi castani, la carnagione chiara e un sorriso strano apparve alla porta. "E' questo il Glee?" chiese, la voce vellutata che celava una nota altisonante.

Quinn che stava chiacchierando con Mike fu percorsa da una strana scarica al sentire quella voce e si voltò verso la nuova arrivata, che le sorrise.

"Sì, è questo. Vorresti essere dei nostri?" chiese Schu felice.

"Sì." disse la bionda fissando Xena che era seduta in prima fila.

La mora le lanciò uno sguardo indifferente e lei ghignò, compiaciuta. La cheerleader, intanto, aveva smesso di ascoltare Mike.

"Bene, entra, entra! Come ti chiami?"

"Callisto." rispose lei, entrando e buttando con noncuranza la tracolla di lato. Si prese una sedia, puntando lo schienale verso Mr Schue e sedendosi a cavalcioni, accanto a Xena.

Gabrielle le lanciò uno sguardo incuriosito e leggermente diffidente -cosa vuole?- e lei le rispose con un'occhiata di impertinente sufficienza.

Schu batté le mani. "Bene allora, cominciamo con il compito, poi proveremo le doti canore di Callisto! chi vuole cominciare?" Tutti iniziarono a guardarsi tra loro, Rachel si torturava le mani mentre Santana si mordicchiava nervosamente il labbro inferiore.

Xena sbuffò e si alzò, afferrando il polso di Rachel. "Iniziamo noi." Disse. letteralmente trascinandola al centro della sala.

"S.. sì, iniziamo noi." disse la cantante ingoiando a vuoto.

Xena diede il via ai ragazzi della band e i primi accordi della canzone cominciarono a risuonare nella sala del Glee.
