Paul's staring at his own reflected gaze. John listens to an american radio program.
There's a Beatle song playing and filling the silence of the luxury suite they're sharing.
“Am I really pretty, John?” is the sudden question coming from the younger.
John shows his stunned face lifting his head up to his friend. He can't believe Paul actually said what he thought he just did.
“Are ye serious?”
“No, John! I just wanted to kill time joking!” John stays dumbly.
“I do am serious! Am I pretty, fine-lookin', handsome, whatever the fuck ye wanna call it?”
"Oh." with that, John sighs and goes near the younger lad, cupping his cheeks in his hands.
“Ye know it's like asking if a cake is sweet, are ye? Coz, ye're not pretty or handsome or fine-looking. Ye're bloody hot, Paul! And I dunno what the fuck is in yer head to make ye doubt that!” he says, looking closely at his mate's eyes.
“What's the matter, Paul?”
“I... *sigh* I dunno, actually. When everyone say I'm hot and all that... y'know, the Cute Beatle... I really don't know if they mean it and actually think I'm pretty or it's only...”
“The Beatle role?” Another sigh from Paul and he bowes his head, nodding with his closed eyes.
“It's just that... I... y'know how it goes. All that screaming habdabs being only hungry for me Little Macca! For them, I'd be the hunchback of Liv'pool and they'd have no care of that since I'm a Beatle!”
When Paul stops talking John laughs on his face, making his mate frown.
“Now what's funny, John?”
“He-he-heverything! Ahahahah...” says John leaning on his own knees while joyful tears are running down his face.
“Well then, I'll leave ye here so ye can laugh at me in total peace of mind!” he blurts out folding his arms against hiw own chest.
John seems simmer down in that very moment and says: “No no no. Ahem, please, don't leave. I didn't mean to offend ye!”grasping lightly his lover's arm and continuing to talk.
“Yer a girlie, hysterical queer, don't get mad. But yer also the coolest, the most talented in many arts and most loyal mate I've ever met. And I don't give a single fuck if anyone says yer too girlish or anythin'. To me yer perfect! Is it good to ye?”
Paul smiles brightly and hugges his friend. “Yeah, Johnny. I luv yeah so much!” “Yeah... me too, Mac. Now, let's try me aunt Mimi's cookies, hoping George hasn't pigged all of 'em, yet!”
