E Temari non lo capiva proprio, come mai Konoha fosse sempre così luminosa, e con i cancelli sempre aperti.
E [davanti ai cancelli] nelle strade così tanta [sempre] gente, sempre diversa [lui].
La verità era che Temari trovava Konoha irritante.
E chissà perché poi, davanti ai cancelli c’era sempre lui.
Che sbuffava.
Dio, se la irritava!

E, dopo così tanto tempo, era diventata abitudine.
Il fumo che saliva in lente spirali.
Lui non era mai stato capace di fare degli anelli di fumo.
Nemmeno in quel momento, davanti ai cancelli.

Lei rispose con un cenno della mano.
E la sua voce, abitudine.
E piano, col tempo, era stato naturale, quel cercarsi, sfiorarsi.
[lui sapeva di tabacco]
Le avrebbe sfilato i codini e lei avrebbe sospirato.
[Così era come doveva andare. ]
E quando lei, la sera, sentì il familiare fruscio delle coperte, lui che si alzava a sedere, l’altrettanto familiare rimestio sul comodino, sorrise.
Shikamaru rischiarò per un breve secondo la stanza con la fiamma debole del suo accendino, accese la sigaretta e tirò una boccata.
Lei si sarebbe addormentata con il sottile odore del fumo che le si arrotolava sui capelli e sgusciava piano fra i contorni del profilo di lui, per poi sparire fuori dalla finestra.
Temari sorrise.

And Temari didn’t really understand why Konoha was always so bright, and with its gates always opened.

He would have undone her hairstyle and she would have sighed.

And when that evening she heard the familiar rustle of the sheets, and the slight noise of his hands that were wandering on the night table, she smiled.
Shikamaru lighted the room for one second with the fire of his lightening, lit the cigarette and inhaled slowly.
She would have fallen asleep with the slight smell of smoke rolling up her hair and slip way slowly on his features and then escaping from the open window.
Temari smiled.
