Before I can get any further of my sense, just the part when Rick said "Vienes ahora" should sound better as "Puedes correrte ahora" oh boy and that will be the horniest sentence you can ever heard from a rockstar.
The Morty was a murder, and that time machine was probably the same portal as the cop Rick he killed. Can you imagine? They are lovers and spend their life's together until someday Morty wake up on his bed again being that poor boy on mortytown. Rick youngerset didn't get why his lover has gone and left the rock and roll to make science and bring him back, and he discovered the citadel. Amazed by the fact that that would be actually his grandsons (not his because he was loyal to Morty and never had children) Ok so he become a police to try to protect all kind of Morty's since they're similar to the dirty boy he used to love. He created that portal due his loliness and nostalgic, but he diy used because it would hurt to see his Morty again on a different time line.
And then, that night, in the middle of the night, a robbed went wrong and he got killed, lefting all his life behind to finally rest in peace.
Here we have Morty, steeling his stuff for their first time and going meet him.
OH BOY I love this more than I can handle, my mind surely will blow up after seeing this on Italian, reading it on Spanish and commenting on english, I should have know of this before, and u have told me about you Morty boy, now I have to draw you a Morty Rockstar as your mortysone hahaha
